Take the time to follow these instructions and ensure that your Shelvy® always performs at its best.
Daily maintenance
Cleaning melamine panels is easy and quick. Use:
- All-purpose cleaner or glass cleaner
- Microfibre cloth or soft sponge
- Lukewarm water to rinse
Step-by-step plan:
- Remove dust and dirt with a dry cloth or soft brush.
- Apply the cleaning agent with a damp cloth.
- Leave it on for max. 5 minutes.
- Clean with circular motions on flat surfaces and in the direction of the texture on textured panels.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Tip: Remove stains within 48 hours for the best result.
Avoid these products
Do not use any of the following products, as they can damage the surface:
- Dish soap
- Scouring pad, steel wool, sandpaper
- Bleach, white spirit, lighter fluid
- Solvents such as thinner or turpentine
- High-pressure cleaner
- Caustic or abrasive products
Repairing micro-scratches
For fine scratches from transport or friction:
- Clean the surface only with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
- Rub in the direction of the texture.
- Dry carefully afterwards.
Removing dust after processing
With deep textures, dust can accumulate in the grain. Clean as follows:
- Remove loose dust with an air brush or soft brush.
- Clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
- Dry afterwards.
- Repeat if necessary.
Removing glue residue
Fresh glue: remove immediately with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
Hardened glue: use a plastic cleaner type DN:
- Apply to a cloth or directly on the surface.
- Leave on for max. 5 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Dry carefully afterwards.
Specific maintenance per surface structure
Deep structures: always clean in the direction of the texture. Avoid paper.
Flat or matte structures: use circular motions when cleaning.
