Our custom cabinet inside the 3FM Glass House in Den Bosch
Did you spot the Shelvy® cabinet? From 18 to 24 December 2025 this wall cabinet took centre stage in the 3FM Glass House, the backdrop behind the DJs, visible to the whole country. This is the story behind it.
A wall cabinet as a stage for the auction items
NPO 3FM Serious Request is one of the best-known charity campaigns in the Netherlands. Every year, DJs lock themselves inside a glass house for a week, in full view of the public, to raise money for a good cause. In 2025, everything revolved around Spieren voor Spieren (Muscles for Muscles).
OPMAATZAGEN.nl, the company behind Shelvy®, was asked to dress the interior of the Glass House in Den Bosch with a custom wall cabinet. The result: an imposing wall of 410 × 210 cm in warm Lorenzo Walnut veneer, sized exactly for the space and stylish enough for national TV cameras.
For Shelvy®, this was a special chance to show what custom furniture can do, even in unconventional settings. The auction-item wall cabinet proved that our cabinets are at home not only in living rooms, but anywhere style meets function.

How it came together
A custom wall cabinet inside a temporary Glass House, ready in two weeks. That demands clear communication, fast production and sharp craftsmanship.

Request & briefing
The request was clear: a custom wall cabinet that makes the Glass House feel warm and homely, and that showcases the auction items beautifully for viewers and visitors. Lead time: two weeks. Challenge accepted.

Bespoke design
Based on the dimensions of the Glass House, a design was developed: 410 cm wide, 210 cm high, 42 cm deep, with open compartments for display and closed storage at the bottom.

Producing the prototype
The cabinet was produced in Lorenzo Walnut veneer, a warm, wooden look that contrasts nicely with the green-blue 3FM brand colours and the neon lighting inside the Glass House.

Delivery & installation
The cabinet was delivered and installed by the Glass House team. Within two hours the wall cabinet was in place, ready for the official opening on 18 December 2025.

From 18 to 24 December 2025, the Shelvy® cabinet was the backdrop for every broadcast by Barend van Deelen, Sophie Hijlkema and Mart Meijer, seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers and listeners.
